The Center looks worldwide for models of excellence; its global connections make Kleeman a valued international consultant, especially on the role of culture in media. He has been a featured speaker on all world continents.
Kleeman chairs the International Advisory Board for the international children's TV festival (PRIX JEUNESSE), and is a frequent consultant to the festival; he created the rules and manages its Web Prize. He has chaired North American advisors to four World Summits on Media for Children.
In 2002-3, he led and authored a major study for PBS and the Markle Foundation on public service media's unique roles for children in the digital era. He has written two book chapters and numerous articles for trade, academic and general press.
He has written book chapters in J. Alison Bryant's "The Children's Television Community" and Singer and Singer's "Handbook of Children and the Media", as well as numerous articles for trade, academic and general press.
David graduated from Harvard College. Married, and with two adolescent daughters, he discovered that running offers time with no phones, computers, TV or sibling squabbles. Apparently, he enjoys the quiet; he's run fourteen marathons. |
